The campaign against cannabis has begun

The Institute for Health Development is launching a campaign to inform the public about the dangers of cannabis, "Cannabis Smokes You!" The goal of the campaign is to tell young people about the risks associated with smoking cannabis.

Cannabis is the most widely used illegal drug, and its use among young people has increased sharply over the past decade, the Institute for Health Development reports.

If in 1999 12% of young people aged 15-16 had tried cannabis, then in 2007 it was already 27% (data taken from the study by The European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD) for 2007).

At the same time, young people are not aware of the health risks or problems caused by the illegality of cannabis. Many sincerely believe that cannabis is a harmless and innocent substance.

The campaign will highlight the mental and physical health risks of cannabis use and other potential consequences. The Institute for Health Development encourages everyone to become more knowledgeable and aware of the consequences of cannabis use.
