Tajiks supplied Lipetsk residents with Ryazan hemp

The Chaplyginsky District Court sentenced two Tajik citizens who sold marijuana in the Lipetsk Region. One of the convicted is 25, the other is 24. They were detained while trying to sell 4 kg 470 g of dried marijuana for 3,000 rubles on the highway between the villages of Lozovka and Lopotok. As established by the case materials, the total volume of narcotics sold in the district amounted to 33 kg, which, according to the law, is an especially large amount.

At the court hearing, the defendants admitted their guilt. They said that they had been collecting wild hemp in the Ryazan region, where they had been living without registration since the summer of this year. Taking into account all the circumstances of the case, the state prosecutor proposed a sentence of 7 years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony for both defendants. The position of the prosecution was fully supported by the court.
