Marijuana Dried Out Due to Police Fault

A Fort Collins, Colorado, couple who grew marijuana for medical purposes are threatening to sue police who confiscated their marijuana plants and later returned them withered.

In August 2006, Jim and Lisa Masters had 39 live marijuana plants confiscated and were arrested on drug charges. The couple claimed to have been using the weed for medical purposes and had supplied marijuana to several eligible patients. In June of this year, the charges against the Masters were dropped. On Monday, the plants were returned to them withered. Police had neglected them because the couple had no paperwork to prove they were legal.

The Masters are threatening to sue the cops for the death of plants that could be worth more than $100,000.
