Florida police invite man who lost 2 bags of cannabis to pick up the goods

In the American state of Florida, a road crew of garbage collectors found two bags of recently harvested cannabis. The police "gentlemanly" offered the owners of the "weed" to come and get the lost goods.

The hemp in two large plastic bags was found by roadside debris cleaners around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The valuable find was handed over for safekeeping to the state highway patrol station near Tampa.

Police officer Larry Coggins estimates the 27 kilograms of the drug found are worth about $54,000 on the black market.

Police believe two bags of cannabis were dumped on the side of the road by someone driving past.

The hemp plants found looked fresh, and some of them had intact roots. Experts assumed that the hemp was collected no earlier than a day before the bags were found, GPU reports.

According to Coggins, the find is not a record, but, of course, such a catch does not often fall into the hands of law enforcement officers.
