Czech 'Green' puts himself on a cannabis poster

The chairman of the regional organization of the Czech Green Party, Stanislav Penz from the city of Jicin, released a poster with the slogan “Live healthy and free,” which depicts himself in a hemp thicket. The posters were distributed throughout the Czech Republic. Outraged political opponents immediately contacted the police, claiming that Pentz was promoting marijuana use. The police carefully examined the posters, but came to the conclusion that Penz did not break the law with his antics, and then closed the case. Penz himself says that he expected such a reaction and intends to continue his campaign for the “decriminalization” of cannabis. According to him, he was forced to take such measures by representatives of the ruling party, who want to toughen the punishment for marijuana consumption. As Penz emphasizes, the new law, which has already been introduced in Parliament, “will make criminals out of people who grow and consume cannabis for medicinal purposes or for relaxation.” The leadership of the Green Party, for its part, stated that it also favors the decriminalization of marijuana consumption, but not its permission in the Czech Republic.
