The smell of marijuana is strong over the rooftops of Be'er Sheva

Be'er Sheva police raided the city's rooftops and arrested 26 teenagers aged 14 to 16 who were smoking marijuana on the rooftops. A 14-year-old drug dealer was also arrested.

The arrests were made as a result of an undercover police investigation. Several weeks ago, police noticed that the city's traditional soft drug smoking spots were almost deserted. They suspected that pot users had found a special hideout where law enforcement officers were hiding.

The investigation revealed that Beer Sheva drug addicts had split into groups, each of which had chosen the roof of one of the houses or administrative buildings as a place of refuge. One of the groups, consisting of high school students, smoked weed on the roof of their own school after classes, when there was not a single person left in the building.

During police interrogations, the schoolchildren said that they try to get money in various ways to buy drugs. And they often buy them from their schoolmates, classmates, and deskmates. Following a tip from one of the arrested, the police detained a 14-year-old dealer who bought drugs from adult dealers and resold them to his classmates. When he was arrested, they found a cube of hashish on him.
