42 hectares of wild hemp over the summer

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, during an operation conducted by police officers from May 14 to July 31, 42 hectares of wild hemp were destroyed. As reported by the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Territory, police officers of the Territory carried out a preventive measure aimed at identifying and destroying illegal crops and hotbeds of growth of wild plants containing narcotic substances. In total, 1.5 thousand police officers were involved in the operation.

During the raids, police officers inspected 39 thousand vehicles, checked over 3 thousand land users, and destroyed 42 hectares of wild hemp. The regional police department also identified 193 crimes under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal production, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances); 14 under Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic substances prohibited for cultivation); 2 under Article 232 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization or maintenance of dens for the use of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances).

The police confiscated 13.6 kg of plant-based narcotics, registered 156 individuals who were using narcotics for non-medical purposes, and stopped the activities of 4 drug dens. Over 12,000 preventive talks were held on the inadmissibility of drug use.
