Man with bag of cannabis detained in Tomsk region

As a result of operational and investigative activities, employees of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Tomsk Region learned that a resident of the city of Kolpashevo was engaged in the procurement and processing of marijuana.

The police set up an ambush at the place where the next collection of raw materials for the drug was to take place. The criminal took a large sports bag with him to collect marijuana. Having filled the bags with the drug, he was ready to put everything in the bag and leave the field, but at that moment he was caught by drug police officers. The bags contained about a kilogram of marijuana.

According to the detainee, he collected and processed the drug for his own consumption. He went to the procurement once every one and a half to two months - that's how long the prepared drug lasted him. The citizen had previously been convicted of theft. Now a criminal case has been opened against him for possession of drugs in especially large quantities. For this act, he faces up to 10 years in prison, the Information and Public Relations Group of the Department reports.
