More than nine kilograms of marijuana were seized from a shed belonging to a resident of a Kuzbass village

Officers of the Yurginsky Interdistrict Department of the Russian Drug Control Department for the Kemerovo Region confiscated 9,327 grams of marijuana from a resident of the village of Maltsevo in the Yurginsky District of the Kemerovo Region. As reported to REGNUM on May 21 by the press service of the regional administration, the drugs were discovered during the all-Russian comprehensive operational and preventive operation "Poppy". A criminal case has been opened on this fact under the article "Illegal storage of narcotics in especially large quantities."

Operation "Poppy" is carried out by the Drug Control Department of Russia for the Kemerovo Region together with law enforcement agencies, executive authorities and interested organizations (the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service, the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Kuzbass Department of Internal Affairs for Transport, the Kemerovo Customs Office, the Federal State Institution "Kemerovo Plant Protection Station in the Kemerovo Region"). Its goal is to identify and eliminate hotbeds of growth of plants containing narcotic substances: wild hemp, illegal poppy crops.
