TV STAR INSURED HER LIFE WHEN LEAVING THE COUNTRY

14.05.2007

Zhanna Agalakova, presenter of information programs on Channel One, left for France. On October 1, 2005, Agalakova became the channel’s own correspondent in Paris.

Before leaving the country, the TV star bought insurance from the AlfaStrakhovanie company for people traveling abroad through a broker for herself, her husband Giorgio, and their child with a total coverage of 200 thousand euros. In addition, Agalakova insured her apartment in the center of Moscow (walls and civil liability to third parties) and purchased an AIG policy for accumulative life insurance with a full package of risks for herself and her daughter. The contract is concluded for 20 years.

Read the interview to find out what prompted the star to leave the country and what exactly she insured herself against with our help.

Zhanna was born in Kirov. Higher education (in 1991 she graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, newspaper department). On TV since 1989. In 1991, she worked as a press attaché for the International Association to Combat Drug Addiction and Drug Trafficking. She worked in the television studio of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (correspondent, assistant cameraman) and at RIA Novosti (information department reporter). She made stories for the program “Man and the Law.” Since 1996 - presenter of information programs on the NTV channel. Since November 1999 - presenter of ORT news programs, then Channel One.

- Zhanna, are you leaving forever?

- Of course not. I'm just going to work in France, I won't disappear from the screen, on the contrary, I might even appear more often.

- Does the work of a special correspondent attract you more than the work of a presenter?

- The work of a presenter is quite monotonous: you sit in one place, see the same people. Every journalist sooner or later wants to go "into the field". And besides, I have long wanted to be closer to my husband. We have been together for 14 years and married for 4 years, but we have almost never lived together: all the time between two countries. Previously, Giorgio lived in Rome (he was born and raised there). For the last year, he has been working in Paris, he will soon move to Germany, where he was offered a job.

- What does your husband do? Is he a businessman?

- Not at all, he studies theoretical physics.

- Why are you going not to Germany, but to France?

- The management of the TV channel offered me a job in Paris. I happily agreed.

- But this is not a solution to the problem: it is not one city and not even one country...

- 6 hours by train within the United Europe is not at all the same as 3-4 hours by plane from Moscow to Berlin or Paris.

- Is your daughter coming with you? Who will look after her while you are at work? Will you entrust her upbringing to some French madam?

- Alice, of course, is coming with me, we will go to kindergarten there.

- How did your daughter react to the move?

- She is still too young to fully understand that she is moving to another country, she will only be 3 years old on September 10. But she has been to Paris often, she likes it.

- Will there be any problems with the language?

- She already knows a couple of words in French, speaks Italian well, I think she will learn the language easily.
