American jailed for his specific smell

A North Carolina man who went to a police station to obtain a concealed weapons permit was given a jail cell and charged with drug possession instead of being issued the required document.

When 25-year-old Dennis Lee Vines arrived at the station, police officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The aroma of the drug was so strong that it filled the entire room. The police's assumption was confirmed by a German shepherd who found two bags of marijuana and two cigarettes in Vines' car. The man was arrested and charged with drug possession. Vines was later released on $850 bail.
