Employees of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Ryazan Region have liquidated a unique underground cannabis greenhouse, the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service reported on Thursday. According to the agency's source, the police detained a 22-year-old Ryazan resident on suspicion of involvement in the illegal sale of drugs. As it turned out later, the unemployed young man was selling marijuana of local origin. The buyers were his acquaintances, as well as people with whom contacts were established on the Internet and in one of the nightclubs.

“He spent the proceeds from selling the drug on entertainment, buying household appliances, upgrading his computer, and a few months ago he decided to invest money in the development of the business,” the press service explained. “For this purpose, the attacker ordered and received it by mail from England seeds of elite varieties of cannabis, equipped the basement as a greenhouse, creating all the necessary conditions for cultivating cannabis using the hydroponics method,” said an employee of the Federal Drug Control Service.

According to him, the greenhouse was equipped with fluorescent lamps, heating systems, air ventilation and oxygen supply to the plants. Favorable temperature conditions and humidity were automatically maintained. “Devoting all his free time to the cultivation process, the suspect carefully recorded all his actions to care for hemp,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.

During the inspection of the premises of the house, the operatives seized old stocks of marijuana, which were packaged for ease of sale in more than 30 packages, imported hemp seeds, a large quantity of fertilizers, teaching aids, equipment and six hemp bushes, which were in a special solution.
"The Federal Drug Control Service is investigating a criminal case on the facts of an illegal attempt to sell, preparation for the sale of drugs on an especially large scale, cultivation of drug-containing plants and the laundering of money obtained by criminal means," the press service noted.
