Marijuana in a Mercedes

The first criminal case in 2007 was opened by employees of the Nikolaev customs post of the Magnitogorsk customs office of the Ural customs administration on the fact of smuggling four and a half kilograms of marijuana from Kazakhstan.

As reported to the Ural-press-inform agency by the press secretary of Magnitogorsk customs Elina Kulikova, the plant-based drug was discovered by customs officers and employees of the border service of the Russian FSB during the inspection of a Mercedes-Benz that arrived from Kazakhstan. In a specially equipped hiding place under the bottom of the car, the enterprising Kazakhstani, born in 1968, tried to smuggle four and a half kilograms of fresh marijuana into Russia. However, neither a plastic bag nor a cloth bag could hide the characteristic smell of the drug. The marijuana was confiscated, and a criminal case was opened on the fact of smuggling.
