More than 0.5 kg of marijuana confiscated from Ryazan student

More than half a kilogram of marijuana was seized in Ryazan by employees of the regional department of the Federal Drug Control Service during operational and investigative activities, the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service reported on Wednesday. According to the agency's source, the drug belonged to a third-year student of a local branch of one of the Moscow universities. The police learned that the 20-year-old is not only a marijuana user, but also sells it to his fellow students and acquaintances.

The press service reported that the student was detained on Zavrazhny Street, across the street from the Zheleznodorozhny District Court, while attempting to sell three packages of illegal goods. After that, operatives conducted an inspection of the apartment on Vysokovoltnaya Street, which the suspect was renting, and found a tin can of drugs there.

In total, 520 grams of marijuana were seized as a result of operational activities. The source of the drug acquisition by the detainee is currently being established. A criminal case has been opened against him under Part 3 of Article 30, Clause B. Part 2 of Article 228.1 and Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted sale of drugs on a large scale and possession of drugs on an especially large scale), the press service noted.
