"Drug farmer" detained in Volgograd region

On the night of December 12, a 36-year-old resident of the city of Mikhaylovka was detained by drug police while trying to sell one and a half kilograms of marijuana. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service for the Volgograd Region. The assurances of the man, who had previously been convicted of theft several times, that he had collected the "harvest" sold to the drug police - 50 glasses of marijuana - "not far from where he lived, in a sunflower field" were not convincing.

During the inspection of the detainee's home, an unregistered hunting rifle and two liter glass jars were found and confiscated. One of them contained marijuana, and the other contained hemp seeds, most likely prepared for planting in the next "working season."

Currently, the issue of bringing the detained resident of Mikhaylovka to criminal responsibility under paragraph "g" of part 3 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal sale of a narcotic drug on an especially large scale) is being decided.
