Heroin, hashish, marijuana - everything is in the firebox!

Employees of the Office of the Federal Service for Drug Control in the Republic of Khakassia destroyed drugs seized from illicit trafficking during operational search and investigative activities for the sixth time this year.

In accordance with federal legislation defining the procedure for the destruction of drugs, a special commission was created, which included employees of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Khakassia, representatives of the health department of the Republic of Khakassia, the ecology committee of the republic and witnesses.

More than 16 kilograms of drugs were destroyed, of which about 7 kg were marijuana, with hashish and poppy straw in second and third place. About 400 grams of heroin were burned, which was used as evidence and, in accordance with the court decision, was subject to destruction. The list of destroyed narcotic drugs also included opium, the psychotropic substance taren and MDMA. In addition to the listed drugs, drug control officers also destroyed more than 4 kg of edible poppy seeds containing microparticles of poppy straw. Evidence was destroyed following the consideration of 30 criminal cases, in which 41 people (of which 7 were women) were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. The total sentence was 174 years.

In total, as the department's press service reports, in 2006, more than 185 kg of narcotic drugs were destroyed, which were used as evidence in 161 criminal cases, the total sentence for which was more than 900 years in prison.
