The smell of cannabis fills Pyatnitskaya04.12.2006
A meeting of the Green Russia faction, which was organized in the Yabloko party in May, was held behind closed doors at the central party office on Pyatnitskaya on Friday. On Thursday evening, free press accreditation for her was suddenly stopped. There is every reason to believe that Apple environmentalists have decided to discuss the possibility of their cooperation with the League for the Legalization of Hemp, which enjoys great support from like-minded foreigners. Here is what the observer of the Internet publication Pravda.ru Andrey Shcherbakov told us: "On Thursday at half past five in the evening we called the Yabloko office at the phone number listed in the announcement of the News and Forecast Agency, citizen Yulia Morozova. At first she said that she was ready to accredit, but when we introduced ourselves, she began to openly consult with a certain Volodya. It was hard to hear, but I still heard the words "hemp", "Zlotnikov", "scandal". After that, Yulia said that by order of the party's top leadership, press accreditation was closed and hung up." Observers have noted that the meeting of the Green Russia faction was called immediately after the sensational interview of the leader of the Cannabis Legalization League Dmitry Zlotnikov appeared on our website. Zlotnikov himself reacted to it rather strangely and a week and a half after its appearance - apparently, under the influence of something obvious, he was in an altered state of consciousness and could not adequately and promptly respond to the events of the day. Mr. Zlotnikov published an open letter to our columnist Zulfiya Karimova in LiveJournal under the loud title “The League for Legalizing Cannabis Does Not Intend to Join Yabloko or Any Other Parties,” in which….he refuted this thesis. Here is what the internationally known leader of the all-Russian movement for the legalization of marijuana wrote: "I can only welcome the positive changes in the worldview of Yabloko, which has moved away from the blanket denial of anti-prohibitionism. I hope that Ilya Yashin, the leader of the youth Yabloko, who has already clearly defined his positive attitude towards the legalization of cannabis, will be joined by his colleagues from the adult Yabloko." It remains to be hoped that in the near future Grigory Yavlinsky will make his choice, worthy of the leader of a truly democratic party, known, among other things, for its environmental initiatives. Grigory Alekseevich, one hectare of legal hemp saves four hectares of forest!"
Apparently, the hopes of Zlotnikov and other lovers of "joints" are justified. It seems that Yavlinsky, under the influence of his favorite Ilya Yashin, who loves to devour marijuana cakes during his visits to his Rastafarian friends in Amsterdam, is ready to publicly come out in favor of legalizing marijuana.
In his "Open Letter to Zulfiya Karimova," the leader of the Cannabis Legalization League, Zlotnikov, recalls that in the summer Yavlinsky was asked about his attitude toward the legalization of medical and recreational use of psychoactive cannabis. This happened on June 7 at Yavlinsky's benefit concert at a favorite meeting place for liberals and democrats, the Andrei Sakharov Museum. "Grigory Alekseevich stated that only a medical specialist can answer this question right away, and he does not have a formulated position on the legalization of cannabis," said Mr. Zlotnikov. "This is a very serious question. I have no taboo on discussing it, but its solution requires a serious approach and careful consideration," said Yavlinsky." It is obvious that today, at a meeting of the Green Russia faction, which was effectively closed to the press, Alexei Yablokov carried out Yavlinsky's instructions and lifted the taboo on discussing the topic of legalizing marijuana. The Yabloko members decided to take a "serious approach" and began to "carefully consider" what dividends the party would gain from cooperation with our and foreign Rastafarians. As the press secretary of the St. Petersburg organization of the Union of Right Forces, Joseph Skakovsky, has repeatedly informed the public, Yavlinsky two years ago recommended fellow party members to switch to “feeding,” that is, to independently look for sources of funding. Cooperation with Rastafarians will undoubtedly attract funds from supporters of the legalization of marijuana from around the world, given the prospects of the Russian market if it opens. In addition, regional Yabloko organizations can earn extra money and increase their popularity among young people by organizing tours of the notorious group from Simferopol “Red Mold”. For 15 years now, this extravagant band has been the leader of punk rock throughout the CIS, and its albums have enjoyed unprecedented popularity among the public. Quite a few songs of "Red Mold" have a pronounced environmental connotation, including "Whoa, fuck! Whoa, fuck! The hemp is ripe again!" and "Old Man Makhno jerks off out the window." We called the artistic director of "Krasnaya Plesen" Pavel Yatsyna in Simferopol. The phone was picked up by the group's soloist, the legendary performer of the title roles in the punk musicals "Cinderella" and "Little Red Riding Hood" Galina Ukurennaya. Here's what she told us: "Pasha is out of it now and can't come over. I'm telling you that I've always believed in the Russian Yabloko. They're real democrats. And Yavlinsky is just a Rastafarian sweetheart, that's who he is. We're going to Moscow in February to present the video for our old hit "Drunken, Drunk Hedgehog Climbed the Wires" to the public and we hope to sign a memorandum of intent with the cultural sector of the Yabloko party. And as a thank you to Ilya Yashin for raising the Rastafarian issue, my friend Lyalya and I will perform the popular couplets of the Cinderella sisters from the musical of the same name: "You, prince, are an asshole and a slowpoke! You don't get the point! You were born an asshole, and you'll die an asshole! You've had such good fortune in your life once! But you don't want to, you don't want to fuck us!" Elena Sakharova
