Tambov grandfather launched hemp trade

Another seizure of drugs was recorded as part of Operation Mak 2006 by employees of the Office of the Federal Service of Russia for Drug Control in the Tambov Region in the village of Shekhman, Petrovsky District. Operatives stopped the criminal activities of a 59-year-old citizen with a previous conviction.

According to the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Tambov Region, the elderly man started selling the drug wholesale by collecting wild hemp in abandoned fields and processing it at home. According to the operatives, buyers of the drug came to the hospitable pensioner not only from Tambov, but even from neighboring regions.

During the inspection of the detainee's home, in addition to several kilograms of the drug prepared for transfer to the client, the drug police discovered a cache hiding from prying eyes more than ten kilograms of high-quality plant-based drugs. In total, over 13.5 kilograms of marijuana were confiscated from the elderly drug dealer.

Currently, a criminal case has been opened regarding the illegal sale and possession of marijuana, and the man faces a penalty of up to ten years in prison.
