Tomsk drug police found a field of cannabis and drug addicts

Over the course of a week, employees of the Kolpashevsky inter-district department of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation for Tomsk Oblast confiscated over a kilogram of marijuana.

As reported by the press service of the Department, the Kolpashevo interdistrict department of drug control received information about the location of a hotbed of wild hemp. Having gone to check the information, operatives discovered that hemp is in demand among drug addicts.

Two young men were caught harvesting cannabis, who had already collected a bag of cannabis each (as was later established, the total weight was about half a kilogram of marijuana) and were about to leave the harvesting site, but were caught by drug police. The drug police put the field of wild cannabis under control, and they plan to destroy it in the future.

Preventive raids are now being carried out in the area. This resulted in two more arrests a few days later, as a result of which three people were taken to the drug control department. In total, they were able to prepare another 600 grams of marijuana.

According to the Department, over the summer-autumn period, Kolpashevo drug police officers discovered and destroyed over four hectares of wild hemp. The total weight of the destroyed plants was about 4.5 tons.
