The hunt for "grass" is underway in Kemerovo

This week, employees of the Russian Drug Control Department for the Kemerovo Region seized two batches of marijuana - more than 5 kg 300 g.

On November 7, 2006, during an operational search operation, officers of the Anzhero-Sudzhensk Interdistrict Department of the Drug Control Department seized marijuana in an especially large amount - more than 1 kg. 240 grams - from one of the apartments. A plastic bag with the drug was found in the room under the bed. A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of drugs). The previously convicted suspect signed a written undertaking not to leave.

In Leninsk-Kuznetsky, during an operational search operation, officers of the interdistrict department of the Drug Control Department, together with traffic police officers, detained a VAZ 2106 car at a traffic police post, in which about 4 kg 84 g of marijuana were found. The narcotic was on the floor near the rear passenger seats. This act contains elements of a crime under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of narcotic drugs). The issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided. The suspect has a previous conviction, including for crimes related to illegal drug trafficking.
