Drug courier from Krasnodar region detained in Rostov

A drug courier from Krasnodar Krai was detained in Rostov-on-Don with drugs worth 100 thousand rubles, the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for Rostov Oblast reports.

The courier was detained by operatives in the Pervomaysky district of the city, where he was going to meet the buyer. In one of the seats of the car, which belonged to a 40-year-old resident of Krasnodar, a hiding place was found, which contained several plastic packages of marijuana, wrapped in tape.

Each package of the drug weighing 200-300 grams was intended for dealers. In total, almost one and a half kilograms of marijuana were found in the car. At "black market" prices, the cost of this batch is about 100 thousand rubles.

The investigation is confident that the drug dealer regularly transported marijuana. The detainee is currently in a pretrial detention center. A criminal case has been opened against him under Part 1 of Article 30 and Part 3, paragraph "g" of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for sale of narcotics in especially large quantities). He faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million rubles.
