Over the course of a week, employees of the Kolpashevo interdistrict department of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation in the Tomsk Region seized over a kilogram of marijuana.
 
A week ago, the Kolpashevo interdistrict drug control department received information about the location of a hotbed of wild hemp. The field was located in a forested area, far from prying eyes and highways. The drug police had no idea that the field was located in such a place inaccessible to people. Having gone to check the information, operatives discovered that this place was in demand among drug addicts.

According to the information and public relations group of the drug control department, two young people were caught preparing hemp.  The couple had already collected a bag of cannabis (as it was later established, the total weight was about half a kilogram of marijuana) and were about to leave the procurement site, but were caught by drug police. The offenders were not going to surrender into the hands of law enforcement officers and took to their heels.

The pursuit of the intruders through the fields continued for quite a long time, the young people turned out to be nimble and resourceful, but this did not help them escape from law enforcement officers, and they were detained. Despite the fact that it would have been much easier to escape from the operatives without the load, the detainees never let go of the bags of potion from their hands.

The drug police have placed the wild hemp field under control and plan to destroy it in the future. In the meantime, until the opportunity to conduct harvesting on it is lost, preventive raids are being carried out in this area. This resulted in two more arrests a few days later, as a result of which three people were brought to drug control. In total, they were able to procure another 600 grams of marijuana. The age of all detainees is from seventeen to twenty years. Three of them are vocational school students, the other two are not officially engaged in anything.

All of them are drug users, but none of them have undergone treatment for drug addiction. According to them, they collected marijuana for their own consumption.  All of them also have no previous convictions. Criminal cases have been initiated against them for possession of drugs on a large scale.

The information and public relations group of the regional drug control department added that during the summer-autumn period, Kolpashevo drug police officers discovered and destroyed over four hectares of wild hemp. The total weight of the destroyed plants was about 4.5 tons.
