A former prison officer and his accomplices were arrested for drug trafficking

In Orenburg Region, employees of the regional Department of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation have uncovered a complex scheme for the illegal sale of drugs in the regional center. "Several suspects in the sale and storage of drugs in large and especially large quantities have been detained. Criminal cases have been initiated against them," the Information and Public Relations Group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Orenburg Region reported to a REGNUM correspondent on October 26.

On October 12, a former UIN employee was detained for organizing a drug distribution point right in his apartment. He explained his illegal actions by his difficult financial situation. According to the data available to the operatives, the man sold half a kilo of "weed" per day. During the search, two plastic bags were confiscated from him, which contained newspaper packages with marijuana. The drug enforcement officers also managed to detain the drug dealer's accomplices. Their apartments were searched, and drugs were confiscated. One of them was detained in his own car. "The expensive foreign car was literally stuffed with bags of marijuana," noted Olga Kanevskaya, an employee of the Information and Public Relations Group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Orenburg Region. In addition to the drugs, a large sum of money was found in the car. Another supplier of the drug dealer, a native of Uzbekistan, worked as an orderly in a morgue. In total, about 600 grams of drugs - marijuana and hashish - were confiscated. At present, investigative measures are being carried out in relation to the detainees. All of them have been arrested and are being held in a temporary detention facility.
