Court sentences actor who played boy in film 'The Sixth Sense' to three years

American actor Haley Joel Osment, who became famous for his leading role in the film "The Sixth Sense", was sentenced by a Los Angeles court to three years probation for drunk driving and drug possession, Lenta.ru reports, citing the AFP agency.

On June 20 of this year, 18-year-old Osment was involved in a car accident in California. The police who arrived at the scene found marijuana in the actor's car, who suffered a broken rib and injured shoulder as a result of the accident. In addition, doctors determined that Haley Osment was drunk at the time of the accident.

According to the court's verdict, the actor, who will be on probation, must pay a fine of one and a half thousand dollars, as well as undergo a rehabilitation course of treatment for alcohol addiction, after which he must attend at least 26 meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous over six months.
