The policeman came across 4 marijuana bushes growing near the highway

A traffic police officer accidentally came across four marijuana bushes growing on the side of Highway 4, each of which reached a height of one and a half meters.

The previous evening, police officer Dori Shemesh was driving south along Highway 4 from the Morasha intersection when he felt the urgent need to stop his car on the side of the road and relieve himself.

Going down to the plants planted by the road, Shemesh noticed four one-and-a-half-meter bushes that aroused his suspicions. Before joining the traffic police, he had worked for many years in the drug enforcement department, so he quickly recognized the plants as marijuana.

Four bushes that were accidentally discovered were immediately uprooted by police.

The head of the Central District Traffic Police Department, Lieutenant Colonel Erlich, said that Shemesh is an experienced police officer who also has amazing intuition. He told how 15 years ago Shemesh discovered several dozen kilograms of marijuana after following two people who seemed suspicious to him.

Growing, using and distributing cannabis is illegal in Israel. Recently, several marijuana plants were discovered on the grounds of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The students who shared their find attributed the appearance of this annual herbaceous plant from the mulberry family to the fact that other students had thrown out cannabis seeds left over from making a joint. The seeds took root and sprouted in the loose, well-fertilized soil that, according to the encyclopedia, cannabis loves.
