One-year-old baby was taking marijuana

A one-year-old child was admitted to Wolfson Hospital in Holon in a state similar to severe intoxication. Doctors were unable to determine the cause of the boy’s apathy for quite a long time. Routine tests were normal, and only after some time did they find traces of marijuana in his urine.

The child’s family, from the police point of view, is completely normal and has not been observed to exhibit any antisocial behavior. In addition, at least for several hours before the incident, the boy was not at home.

In the morning he was sent to a nursery, and then a relative picked him up and immediately handed him over to his grandmother’s house, who noticed the baby’s strange apathy.

The one-year-old is currently feeling fine and has been discharged from the hospital. Doctors and police are at a loss to say how marijuana could have entered the child's body.

In an interview with Ynet, doctors suggested that it could be a case of accidental ingestion of a leaf or even accidental inhalation of vapors. From the point of view of specialists, the case is extremely rare and causes great difficulty in determining whether there was a criminal motive, and if so, who is to blame.
