A bag of cannabis flew out of the bus window...18.10.2006
In the Jewish Autonomous Region, police officers detained a drug courier from whom a large batch of herbal drugs was confiscated.
The criminal was detained at the 19th kilometer of the Birobidzhan-Leninskoye highway. As reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Far Eastern Federal District, traffic police officers stopped a Toyota Town Ace minibus for inspection. As the police approached, one of the passengers tried to throw a synthetic bag out of the car. The police found more than 7.5 kilograms of dried marijuana and about 60 grams of hashish oil in the bag. The drug courier turned out to be a previously convicted, unemployed 37-year-old resident of Birobidzhan. The courier has now been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. A criminal case has been opened against him under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
