Gypsy drug dealers caught in Crimea and marijuana supply channel blocked

Crimean law enforcement officers uncovered a Roma drug distribution network. In early October, security forces detained two previously convicted members of the Roma clan, who kept stocks of various narcotic drugs at their home.

Last week, a house of a gypsy man in Yevpatoria was searched. He was unemployed and had multiple previous convictions, including for illegal drug transactions. This time, 550 "checks" with 200 grams of opium extract, two 50-gram packages of marijuana, and 32 packages of "Diphenhydramine" tablets were found and confiscated from the 42-year-old Yevpatoria resident.

The drugs were stored for sale in the Saksky, Razdolnensky and Chernomorsky districts, and there were many people willing to buy the goods in Yevpatoriya. The approximate profit from selling the drugs could have been more than 60 thousand hryvnia.

Another gypsy drug dealer was detained in Krasnogvardeisky District. The 39-year-old resident of the village of Iskra also had a previous conviction. During a search of his barn, police officers found a hiding place from which they confiscated a kilogram of marijuana and 10 "checks" with opium. The approximate cost of such goods on the "black" market of Crimea is about 12 thousand hryvnia.

Another operation to detain a drug dealer was carried out last weekend. On October 10, operatives blocked an interregional channel for the supply of marijuana. At the railway station in the city of Simferopol, a 37-year-old man was detained who arrived in Crimea from the Zakarpattia region on the Lviv-Simferopol train. During the inspection of the luggage of the arriving guest, about 5 kilograms of marijuana were found. The owner of the "weed" was detained.
