Marijuana increases sexual desire

ченые медицинского института Хьюстона установили механизм влияния марихуаны на половое влечение.

Experiments on rats have shown that administering the active component of marijuana, 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), to animals restores their sexual activity lost due to the removal of the ovaries.

Молекулярный биолог Шейла Мани изучала влияние ТГК на половое поведение крыс до и после введения веществ, блокирующих в головном мозге рецепторы к ТГК, прогестерону и дофамину. Оказалось, что блокирование любого из этих типов рецепторов устраняло эффект наркотика.

На основании этих данных сделан вывод, что ТГК взаимодействует с дофамином и прогестероном в головном мозге. Результаты исследования были опубликованы в последнем номере журнала Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Scientists emphasize that the sexual behavior of rats depends much more on hormones than human sexuality. The effect of THC on the human brain requires further study, writes Lenta.ru.
