Hemp plantation liquidated in Ryazan region

The Federal Drug Control Service Administration for the Ryazan Region, as part of the operational and preventive operation "Poppy-2006", carried out measures to remove plant-based drugs from illegal circulation, the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service reported.

According to the agency's source, officers of the Kasimovsky interdistrict drug control department discovered a hemp plantation, which was cultivated on a private plot by a 34-year-old resident of the district. According to the police, the man was growing hemp for the purpose of further sale. During the inspection of the adjacent territory, 86 bushes of the drug-containing plant were found and destroyed. Its total weight in dried form was more than 11 kg. In addition, the operatives seized 120 grams of ready-made marijuana from the suspect's house.

In addition, according to the press service, during operational activities in the Putyatinsky district, officers of the Shilovsky MRO drug control detained two residents of the village of Sergievka red-handed. The young people intended to sell two packages with 2 kg 70 g of marijuana, but the drug was confiscated by the police. Criminal cases have been opened on the facts of illegal drug trafficking, an investigation is underway, the press service added.
