In the Tver region, hemp was grown 2.5 meters high

As a result of operational search and investigative activities, employees of the Torzhok department of the State Drug Control Department for the Tver Region suppressed the criminal activities of a group of people engaged in the cultivation of drug-containing plants, as well as the storage and sale of narcotic drugs in the regional center of Kuvshinovo. As a REGNUM correspondent was told in the information and public relations group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Tver region, a resident of Kuvshinovo, born in 1983, previously convicted of theft, grew hemp from which he made marijuana. He involved his friend, a resident of Kuvshinov, born in 1987, in his criminal activities, who sold narcotic drugs. During the search, 300 grams of marijuana, as well as 27 cannabis plants weighing 31 kilograms, were seized from the suspect. Moreover, the height of each plant exceeded 2.5 meters. From this amount of hemp, after processing, almost 6 kilograms of marijuana could be obtained. Currently, the drug dealer has been arrested, and his accomplice has been released on her own recognizance. An investigation is underway.
