A young Pskovite was sentenced to 6.5 years for transferring marijuana to a friend in a pre-trial detention center.

26-year-old Pskov resident Denis Nilov was sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony. The young man will suffer this punishment for sending a parcel of marijuana to a friend in a pretrial detention center in Pskov. This was reported to a PAI correspondent by Nadezhda Kireeva, chief specialist and expert of the information and public relations group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Pskov Region.

She said: "D. Nilov decided to make a "present" to his friend, who was in the pretrial detention center. He packed marijuana in gutted cartridges from Belomorkanal cigarettes, mixed them with Prima and Optima cigarettes and went to the pretrial detention center with the finished package." At the entrance, the young man showed someone else's ID. The parcel was then confiscated from the criminal by drug police officers and sealed.

Nadezhda Kireeva added that Denis Nilov had been convicted three times before. The first time he received a three-year suspended sentence, later he was sentenced to three years in prison, and then to four more.
