In the northwestern region of Russia, large quantities of marijuana are being actively seized, which arrive in the region from abroad and the southern regions of our country. In Kaliningrad, a large-scale special operation was conducted to detain members of a criminal group that supplied high-quality Dutch marijuana to the city.
The drug police decided to find out who exactly was supplying the city with the "weed" that was in high demand among the local youth, and who the goods were intended for. During the operational activities, the detective professionals found out that the smuggling of Dutch marijuana was being done by a Polish citizen connected to criminal circles in Kaliningrad.
As reported by a representative of the information and public relations group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Kaliningrad Region, last weekend, the operatives of the Service together with customs officers conducted a large-scale special operation. The operational work was carried out simultaneously on the Russian-Polish border and in Kaliningrad itself, during the operation all participants of the organized criminal group were arrested: a smuggler from Poland and a well-known criminal authority in the city.
The 36-year-old Polish smuggler had previously entered the Kaliningrad region several times, sometimes several times a day. The man was engaged in transporting alcohol and cigarettes, but the profits from the drug business seemed more promising to him. Soon he organized a supply chain for elite Dutch varieties of marijuana, entering into business relationships with local criminal structures. The drug police received operational information that the Pole plans to bring another batch of goods in the coming days. Surveillance of the drug courier began right from the border crossing point.
The operatives gave the Pole the opportunity to safely reach the buyers, and arrested him already at the border, where, after searching his motorcycle, they found money proceeds from the sale of drugs, amounting to about three and a half thousand dollars. At the same time, in Kaliningrad, the participants in the deal from the Russian side were detained - the crime boss Svetly, the “supervisor” of the city, and his accomplice, who are also involved in car thefts. In their car, under the driver's seat, investigators found half a kilogram of high-quality Dutch marijuana.
All the detainees have been arrested and are in pretrial detention. A criminal case has been opened against them under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - transportation of narcotics in especially large quantities, Part 2 of Article 188 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - smuggling. The Pole will have to pay for the crimes in his homeland, and the Kaliningrad criminals, naturally, will remain in Russia.
Another seizure of a large consignment of marijuana was noted in the Republic of Karelia. During Operation Poppy, operatives of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Republic of Karelia received information about the arrival of a large consignment of marijuana in Petrozavodsk. The drug police learned the identity of the courier - he was a 28-year-old unemployed resident of the capital of Karelia. Together with the traffic police of the Olonetsky District Police Department, drug control operatives prepared to detain the criminals on the border of the republic with the Leningrad Region.
As reported by the Information and Public Relations Group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Republic of Karelia, the police stopped the suspect's foreign car at a traffic police post, and the man showed no concern. However, the drug police took up the case, and soon the service dog unmistakably pointed to the hiding place. As it turned out, the gas equipment in the car was a dummy. In reality, it was used as a hiding place for transporting drugs.
During the autopsy, two packages of marijuana weighing more than 2.6 kilograms were found in it. This is the largest batch of "weed" seized by Karelian drug police since the beginning of the republican Department's activities. According to investigators, the drugs were brought from the southern regions of Russia. At the moment, a criminal case has been opened on this fact, and the man is in custody.
