Primorye drug police seize bags of marijuana from villagers

During Operation Poppy, Primorye drug police seized almost 620 kg of marijuana. Several large batches of marijuana were seized by officers of the Lesozavodsky Interdistrict Department during raids in the Kirovsky District of Primorye; the total weight of marijuana seized during this raid alone exceeded 6.6 kg. This was reported to a REGNUM correspondent on September 5 by the Primorye drug police.

Bags of marijuana, in particular, were found during inspections of households in the villages of Shmakovka and Avdeevka. In the village of Runovka in the same Kirovsky district, at the place of residence of a citizen born in 1948, 4 bags of marijuana were seized at once, hidden in various places in the yard, as well as items used to "distill" marijuana into hashish oil. At present, the owners of the "grass" have signed a written undertaking not to leave, criminal cases have been opened, and investigators are finding out where the "Manchurian" was prepared.

Poppy straw is encountered somewhat less frequently than marijuana in Primorye. In the village of Novotroitskoye in the Dalnerechensky District, drug enforcement officers found and confiscated a package of poppy straw weighing 450 grams in the summer kitchen of a local 65-year-old resident. A criminal case has also been opened for illegal storage of drugs in large quantities. At the same time, another dealer of hashish oil was detained and taken into custody in Vladivostok as part of a criminal investigation. The operatives established that he sold drugs in the entrance of his own house on Karbysheva Street. Work within the framework of Operation Poppy-2006 continues.
