A conscript soldier from Obninsk (Kaluga Region) was convicted of drug trafficking

A 21-year-old resident of Obninsk, L., was recently sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony for attempted sale of marijuana in large and especially large quantities. He was convicted under four articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

As the correspondent of IA REGNUM was informed by the information and public relations group of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia for the Kaluga Region, it is interesting that L. launched his criminal business during his military service - he used the short-term vacations provided to him to search for marijuana and potential buyers. He served in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and bought the "grass" in the town of Lukoyanov, the closest to the military unit, from a certain Sh. and transported it to his home in Obninsk for safekeeping. And here, according to the proposal,

to the delight of casual acquaintances, he resold it to equally casual acquaintances, but at a higher price.

At the trial, L. fully admitted his guilt, sincerely repented of his actions and actively contributed to the disclosure of the crimes. When passing the sentence, the court took into account all mitigating circumstances: positive characteristics of L. at his places of residence, study and service, as well as the unfavorable family environment in which he was raised (he grew up without a mother, his father suffers from alcoholism, all relatives live below the poverty line). Taking into account all these facts, the court sentenced L. to the minimum sentence.
