A large batch of marijuana containing amphetamine was found by drug police in a shoebox. Last week, operatives of the Cherepovets drug control department conducted an operation to detain a drug dealer-wholesaler. The Cherepovets resident, who got off the train car arm in arm with a girl, was caught on the platform of the railway station.

The young man arrived from St. Petersburg. He brought illegal luggage, which was passed off as shoes. When the detectives opened the luggage (a shoe box, wrapped in tape), they saw a lot of ground coffee. Digging deeper, they found marijuana leaves.

The coffee was needed to neutralize the strong smell emanating from marijuana, which is not usually characteristic of it.

- My head was hurting all day after I looked into the bag where we put the confiscated drugs. It had such a strange smell, - says Eduard Yumalov, deputy head of the Cherepovets drug control department.

"A killer thing," is what drug addicts say about the confiscated grass. In common parlance, it is called hydroponics. It is grown in a special way. It is watered not with water, but with special solutions containing amphetamine. As a result, the leaves are soaked in this synthetic drug. This method of growing increases the strength of marijuana's effect on the body. Accordingly, it costs twice as much as usual - a thousand rubles per gram.

In total, the box contained about 300 grams of marijuana. In the house of a Cherepovets resident (he lives in the FMK area), drug police officers found a whole warehouse of drugs prepared for sale. Hashish and ecstasy tablets, divided into bags. They also found a supply of packaging material.

In addition to the wholesaler, the operatives detained four smaller distributors to whom he sold his goods. Work is underway to further identify the entire chain.
