Ivanovo Drug Control Department participated in the liquidation of an international smuggling channel

On August 9, the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation for the Ivanovo Region reported the liquidation of a transnational criminal group. Employees of the regional drug control department contributed to the liquidation of a major contraband channel. Not only heroin and marijuana, but also psychotropic substances were brought from neighboring countries to Russia through it. Employees of the central office of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia, departments for the Novosibirsk, Belgorod and Ivanovo regions took part in the operation to liquidate the channel and suppress the activities of the supplier group. In cooperation with the Federal Customs Service of Russia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, drug police officers liquidated the international channel for the supply of ketamine from Ukraine to Russia. The dealers were detained in Russia at the time of the transaction, when they were trying to sell 280 ampoules of this psychotropic substance. They turned out to be citizens of the Russian Federation. During further operational and investigative activities, drug police officers seized about one and a half thousand more ampoules of ketamine, heroin and marijuana from drug dealers. A criminal case has been opened on the fact. Those detained face up to 20 years in prison.

"The case is under development, so most of the information on it is currently closed and will be made public later," Tatyana Uklonskaya, chief specialist of the department of information and public relations, explained to a REGNUM correspondent.
