Christ worked miracles with hemp07/30/2003
Jesus Christ is, of course, a superstar of all times and peoples, and for more than two thousand his person has been causing controversy and disputes. For example, American researchers have now come to the conclusion that the Son of God and the apostles did not disdain marijuana, which grew in abundance in the land of Israel. Moreover, they used cannabis for miraculous healings of the afflicted. The basis for such a monstrous statement from the point of view of the Church was a study of the composition of the oil that was used in services in the early Christian period. It turns out that it contained hemp extract, and in a good percentage. Having made this most curious discovery, gentlemen scientists turned their inquisitive gaze to various manuscripts of that period and confirmed their assumptions. At the time of Christ, the anesthetic properties of cannabis were actively used in Israel, as well as in other Mediterranean and Eastern countries. From this wonderful plant in all respects, they made not only the hit of all times - hashish, but also various oils and tinctures, which were widely used for medicinal purposes. Cannabis extract oil was believed to be excellent for treating skin conditions as it relieves pain and itching. Mentally ill people were also prescribed to regularly take marijuana oil or tincture of this plant. The results of this study were published in the American drug magazine High Times. The author of the article focuses on historical data and suggests that Jesus Christ and his apostles were most likely aware of the healing properties of cannabis. And it is unlikely that they had a prejudice against the use of this plant for both personal and public purposes - in those days the problem of drug addiction did not exist as such, and tincture of opium poppy was considered the best sleeping pill. The author of the scandalous article, Chris Bennett, does not question the divine origin of Christ and does not try to challenge his abilities as a healer. He just believes that Jesus Christ could have used oil with cannabis extract to help those suffering. Bennett discovered the recipe for the sacred oil used in worship not just anywhere, but directly in the Bible, in the Book of Exodus. The journalist turned to the original Hebrew, which says that oil consists of a substance called keneh-bosum. Etymologists, linguists, archaeologists and botanists are unanimous in the opinion that this word means a concentrated extract of hemp, diluted with olive oil in a ratio of one to two with the addition of various herbal flavors. Chris Bennett suggests that cannabis played a significant role in the miraculous healings of the sick that glorified Christ. In those days, it was believed that diseases like epilepsy were caused by demonic forces, in other words, demons. A cure, albeit temporary, from such an ailment was considered a miracle of exorcism, and the fact that the patient was treated and anointed with oil only strengthened people in the belief that everything that happened was a miracle. By the way, cannabis is very effective in relieving epileptic seizures, as well as in treating periodic pain in women, somatic diseases and skin problems. Bennett reduced his article to a completely logical idea - he dreams of legalizing marijuana and brings Christ as a witness to justify “legalization.” However, his arguments caused a storm of protest from official representatives of the Church, who called the article a heresy that did not reflect reality in a single word. Church officials refuse to acknowledge the use of cannabis in early Christian times, without paying any attention to historical data. www.utro.ru
