Hemp field destroyed in Saratov region

MOSCOW, /RIA Novosti/. A 1.5-hectare field of cultivated hemp was destroyed on Monday in the customs border area in the Ozinsky District of the Saratov Region. This was reported to RIA Novosti on Tuesday by the press service of the State Customs Committee of Russia.

The field was discovered during search operations by an operational group, which included employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Smuggling of the State Customs Committee of Russia, and the Sheremetyevo and Saratov customs offices.

In addition, the State Customs Committee noted that an Omsk customs officer seized more than five kilograms of marijuana as part of a joint operation with the Russian Federal Drug Control Service. The drugs were found on two Russian citizens.
