Drug police are looking for poppy and hemp in the Moscow region

The Regnum news agency was informed of this by the information and public relations group of the regional department of the Federal Drug Control Service. The agency's interlocutor specified that the climatic conditions of the Moscow region are favorable for the growth of drug-containing plants.

“In cities and areas with a low standard of living, people grow, for example, poppies on their plots and abandoned lands,” note employees of the Drug Control Department. “There is criminal liability for this criminal business.”

In the Moscow region, narcotic plants are not only cultivated artificially, but also grow on their own. According to drug police, managers of farms on whose territory wild narcotic plants may be found must take measures to immediately destroy them.
