A group of drug addicts was detained at an anti-drug rock festival in Penza

The rock festival that opened last Friday in Penza does not fully meet its stated goals, according to employees of the Federal Drug Control Service for the Penza Region. This was stated to the media on May 31 by Irina Osetrova, a senior detective for especially important cases at the regional Federal Drug Control Service, as reported by a REGNUM correspondent. At the first festival performance, which took place in Penza under the motto "Rock - against drugs" in the city's cultural and leisure center, drug police officers found numerous examples of the exact opposite of this motto.

That evening, the Federal Drug Control Service detained more than 20 people who, by all indications, were in a state of drug intoxication. After a medical examination, this diagnosis was confirmed for 4 young people, who will be subject to administrative penalties. The distributor of marijuana was also detained. Many teenagers were at the concert in a state of severe alcohol intoxication. The Federal Drug Control Service operatives could not wake up a 15-year-old girl who fell asleep in the hall under the roar of the music for 10 minutes. The drug police also have complaints about the content of some musical works, which sometimes contain more propaganda for drugs than calls to fight them, which only causes unhealthy moods among young people. The Federal Drug Control Service leadership has decided to increase attention to all events of the rock music festival in Penza.

As REGNUM reported earlier, within the framework of the music festival "Rock-Zahvat-2006" that opened in Penza on May 26, concerts will be held on Fridays at various summer venues in the city for 3 months. More than 40 groups have applied to participate in this music marathon. It is planned that groups not only from Penza, but also from other regions of Russia will perform at the festival. According to preliminary data, such famous rock groups as "Aria", "Alisa", "Chizh i K" or "DDT" may come to Penza for the end of the festival in August.
