Ukrainian pensioner brought almost 2.5 kg of marijuana to Russia

On May 19, a joint group of border guards and customs officers at the border control point across the Ukrainian-Russian border “Cossack Lopan” detained a resident of Ukraine, a 68-year-old pensioner. The detainee tried to smuggle 2 kg 390 grams of marijuana from Ukraine in four two-liter packs of juice, the press service of the border detachment told a REGNUM correspondent. Border guards noticed that the sealed juice packs were too light.

The detainee was handed over to law enforcement agencies; an investigation is underway into this incident.
