Lingerie in “cheerful” colors has appeared in Ekaterinburg stores

Fabrics in literally cheerful colors appeared on Yekaterinburg shelves. Thus, in a hardware store on Vostochnaya Street, customers can purchase bed linen with images of poppy pods and plants that closely resemble hemp. Ekaterinburg Garment Factory LLC produces products with such unusual symbols.

However, as it turned out, there is nothing reprehensible in the manufacturer’s actions. As explained by the press service of the State Drug Control Department of the Russian Federation for the Sverdlovsk Region, these pillowcases and sheets could be called “drug propaganda” if the drawings were accompanied by appropriate text. “Just leaves and herbs - only botanists will understand them. The average person will not understand what is depicted there,” says the head of the press service, Elena Isaeva. “However, if one of the buyers is outraged by a pillowcase with poppy boxes, he can write a complaint addressed to the head of the State Drug Control Department for the Sverdlovsk Region - we will be obliged to respond and conduct an appropriate examination."

At the same time, Elena Isaeva admitted that, unlike the Perm, Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions, this type of litigation has never happened in the Middle Urals.

Let us recall that last year in Nizhny Novgorod a court fined an entrepreneur for selling T-shirts and bandanas with drug symbols. The case was initiated based on the seizure by state drug control operatives of several hundred wearable items and jewelry with the image of hemp. Among the items seized were T-shirts and sweatshirts with an image of the famous singer Jimi Hendrix smoking a joint of cannabis, with the inscriptions “Mow and Get High” and “Princess of Dope.” The fine for selling drug products turned out to be very symbolic - only 2 thousand rubles.
