A serviceman who grew a thousand hemp bushes in pots was detained in Saratov.

As reported on Wednesday by the public relations group of the UFSB of Russia for the Saratov region, operatives of the UFSB and the city prosecutor's office destroyed more than a thousand pots with cannabis sprouts.

According to the detainee, after selling the harvest he planned to make a profit of three million rubles, the FSB reported.

According to preliminary estimates, the costs of setting up the greenhouse amounted to about a million rubles, of which about 300 thousand were spent on purchasing seeds alone, said a representative of the administration.

During the operational investigative activities, during the inspection of the suspect's VAZ-2109 car, an AK-74 assault rifle, a Makarov pistol, a grenade detonator, a flare gun, seven cartridges, an F-1 training grenade and six bags of marijuana were also seized, the FSB representative added.

The Saratov prosecutor's office opened a criminal case on this fact under Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices").
