Pensioner-´´drug lord´´01/27/2005
Instead of bird food, the pensioner grew marijuana. Today, the entire Czech Republic is waiting: will the court punish him or acquit him? Due to his age and health, the pensioner was not arrested, but was left at home until the trial, on bail. If Mr. Oslejsek's guilt is proven, he faces two to ten years in prison. The entire country is following this unprecedented case in the history of forensic science. After all, as the police reported and witnesses confirmed, the pensioner grew marijuana, being firmly convinced that this herb has a completely different name and is nothing more than bird food. And Mr. Oslejsek and his 61-year-old wife Maria have as many as forty-eight birds - pigeons, chickens, ducks and four turkeys. The employees of the pet store where the pensioner bought the food confirmed that they did not sell him any marijuana. And where would it come from in the store, if the food is supplied here by wholesalers, and they swear that they do not deal with drugs. In general, it turns out that at some stage the drug trafficking failed, and the bag of marijuana seeds went to the pet store, and the customer of the drugs received ordinary bird food. When the police came to Ošlejšek's plot, they couldn't believe their eyes: next to the tomatoes, cucumbers and radishes there were 1,500 three-metre (!) marijuana bushes growing. Maria Ošlejšikova explained: their family is poor, so in order for the "bird food" to grow better, it was regularly watered with chicken and duck droppings - you can't find a better fertilizer! "Bird food" - marijuana seeds. When the scandalous case of the "pensioner drug dealer" was reported by the press, he decided to commit suicide - he was ashamed to go out on the street. Thankfully, his wife talked him out of it. And the majority of the country's residents are on the pensioner's side and believe in his innocence. The lawyers are sure that the court will acquit Mr. Oslejsek. The pensioner has a brain tumor, and an operation is scheduled in a month. Moreover, a series of misfortunes has haunted the family of Maria and Josef for all 34 years of their life together. First, their son died at the age of one. Twenty years later, their second son died in a car accident - three days after his own wedding. Three years ago, his granddaughter drowned in a river. Six months ago, doctors gave Mr. Oslejsek a terrible diagnosis, and now he is accused of growing drugs. During his final interrogation, Josef Oslejsek recalled: "I have long been surprised that boys are constantly climbing onto my property. They jump over the fence, break boards, and tear up the bird feed. I thought they were strange... But now I understand what was going on." And what about the birds? Ornithologists and veterinarians were surprised to find that the pigeons, chickens, ducks and turkeys were feeling great, were not getting sick and were growing by leaps and bounds. Mr. Oslejsek's chickens weigh 4.5 kilograms, while his neighbors' chickens weigh three kilograms less. olk-peace.org
