Older Americans want marijuana for treatment

Nearly three-quarters of older Americans favor legalizing the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

These are the results of the latest sociological study on this topic. Nationwide, 72% of respondents supported the “medical” use of marijuana.
The poll found that the initiative has more support in the Northeast (79%) and West (82%), while people in the Midwest and Southwest are more reticent about the idea (66%).
Although 69% of Americans over the age of 70 support legalizing the use of marijuana for medical purposes, less than half of them believe it is justified in terms of health benefits. 70% of respondents aged 45-49 believe in the positive effects of using marijuana. In the age group 50-69 years old, 59% of respondents share this opinion. On average, 74% of survey participants believe that marijuana is addictive.
