6 More Drug Books Banned

A meeting of heads of trade enterprises was held in the Central Administrative District of Moscow, at which a representative of the Federal Drug Control Service, Alexei Bogomolov, spoke.

He informed the heads of the book trade that "FSNK experts do not recommend" selling the following books:

1. Lester Grinspoon and James Bakalar. "Marijuana: The Forbidden Medicine."
2. Sasha and Ann Shulgin. Phenylethylamines I Knew and Loved
3. Sergey Kuznetsov. "Seven Petals"
4. Irvine Welsh. "On the needle"
5. James Stevens. "Storming the Skies"
6. Tom Wolfe. "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test"

Books that are "not recommended by FSNK experts" can be confiscated by any government agency - the police, the FSB, the State Tax Committee itself - and sent to court. Shops selling "not recommended" books are fined 40,000 rubles on the same day.
