Belgians find hemp in olives

Belgian police have seized 11 tons of cannabis that drug dealers were hiding in barrels of olives.

As the Brussels radio station Contact Plus reported on Friday,

The approximate market value of the seized drug is estimated at 50 million euros. The police found 250-liter metal containers with a double bottom containing the drug in a warehouse in the port of Antwerp, Belgium, as well as in warehouses in the cities of Ans and Herstal in the east of the country.

The head of a Belgian company that supplied barrels of "olives" from Morocco to Antwerp has been detained on suspicion of drug smuggling. However, according to investigators, the detainee is a front man and this is about the activities of an international criminal group, the radio station notes.
