Swiss Cheese May Contain Marijuana05.03.2007
The Swiss Ministry of Agriculture has asked farmers in the country to stop using hemp as livestock feed. Despite the fact that hemp was banned back in March 2005, several advertising campaigns have been released promoting the idea of hemp as an ideal feed for farm animals.
The Ministry of Agriculture has already warned farmers that if their cows are doped, they themselves will be punished. Farmers, however, see cheap and easy-to-grow feed as excellent food for their cows. They believe that the active ingredient in cannabis, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), makes their cows happier, which is why they produce more milk.
However, the ministry's experts are adamant: THC can get into milk, which will create a risk to human health.
